Methodology
How we research each comparison
The goal is a comparison a buyer can reproduce: clear claims, primary sources, hands-on checks, visible limitations, and a date showing when the evidence was last reviewed.
The research process
- 01
Start with primary sources
Pricing, plan limits, feature availability, and product policies are checked against each company's official pricing pages, documentation, help centre, changelog, or public status information. Secondary sources are used only when they add evidence unavailable from the product company itself.
- 02
Test the product claim
Interface and workflow claims are checked in live product accounts. The team performs the same task in each platform, records where the controls live, and captures screenshots when a visual comparison is useful.
- 03
Compare like with like
Plan prices are compared at the tier required to perform the stated job. Usage fees and per-account charges are kept separate from base subscription prices. A winner is assigned only for the specific row being evaluated, not for the product as a whole.
- 04
State limits and uncertainty
When a platform is not covered by the same third-party dataset, a beta is not generally available, or a feature could not be tested under identical conditions, the page states that limitation instead of presenting the comparison as exact.
- 05
Date and recheck
Every comparison carries a visible last-verified date. Pricing and fast-moving feature counts are rechecked when a page is materially updated. The date changes only after the relevant evidence has been reviewed again.
How winners are determined
Winners are determined through an evidence-based, AI-assisted evaluation process. Each platform is assessed against the same predefined criteria using current pricing, official documentation, hands-on product testing, and captured screenshots.
AI applies the comparison criteria consistently and identifies the strongest option for each category. Affiliate compensation is not included as an evaluation factor, and the system is not instructed to favor either platform. The editorial team verifies the underlying facts and sources but does not change outcomes to benefit an affiliate partner.
A category winner reflects the available evidence and stated criteria, not a universal recommendation for every business. Readers can review the supporting facts, advantages, disadvantages, and limitations to reach their own conclusion.
How affiliate links are handled
The site may earn a commission from Votel affiliate links. That relationship is disclosed near recommendations and in the footer. It does not change the price paid by the reader.
Affiliate status does not turn every row into a Votel win. HighLevel receives the stronger rating where its maturity, marketplace, or a specific product capability is better supported by the evidence.
Corrections and changing products
SaaS pricing and features change frequently. Readers should use the dated source links on each page to confirm a number before making a purchasing decision. When a source or product test no longer supports a published claim, the claim, verdict, and last-verified date are revised together.
Anonymous testimonials are labelled as such and are not used as the sole evidence for pricing or feature claims. Product screenshots are evidence of the interface at the stated verification date, not a guarantee that the interface will remain unchanged.
Readers can report a possible error or provide updated evidence through the contact and corrections page.
